This eight hour course addresses Chronic Illnesses and General Symptoms, Risk Factors, complications and how best to implement appropriate care.
We examine: Heart Disease, Cardiovascular Disease, Cerebrovascular Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Hypertension, Kidney disease, Liver Disease, Arthritis, Osteoporosis and Cancer.
We look at the psychological and cognitive conditions of mood disorders such as: Anxiety disorder, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) ,PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Major and Chronic Depression.

Aging Overview Course
This five hour course addresses the special needs of the elderly and how best to implement appropriate care.
We examine the fall risks of the elderly and how to prevent or reduce the impact on a resident.
We discuss the biological and physical aspects of the aging and implications for care.
Topics include: Heart and Lungs, Kidney and Bladder, Muscles, Bones, Tendons and Ligaments, Nervous and Immune System, Brain, Intelligence and Memory ,Vision, Hearing, Digestion, Test, Smell, Mouth and Teeth, Skin, Hair and Nails. We will cover the proper care for bedridden clients and have an overview on End of Life and Hospice care.

Mental Illness Training
This eight hour course will cover a variety of Mental disorders including Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Anxiety Disorders and Mood Disorders.
We will explain proper procedures for interacting with individuals who have Developmental Disabilities. You will learn about visual, hearing and speech impairments as well as major Syndromes like Down, Fragile X and Fetal Alcohol. This course will give you a greater understanding of Psychiatric Disorders including Bipolar, Major Depression and Schizophrenia.

This eight hour refresher course describes Nevada regulations on “scope of practice” for caregivers. It explains why it is important to follow the instructions as they are written by physicians.
We explain how to keep accurate medication documents and the use of medication administration record [MAR], medication delivery log, medication refusal or missed medications. Reviews the Med Aide terminology and reviews the different routes that medication may be administered. Review of the appropriate abbreviation when documenting medications.

Elder Abuse Training
This course provides the proper ways to identifying elder abuse and neglect.
Course Covers: types of Abuse, (physical, mental, psychological) Exploitation, Isolation, Neglect and
Self-neglect. How to recognizing abuse of older persons, how to report abuse and reporting requirements. Prevention of abuse, common risk factors for potential abuse. Who is a mandatory reporter, consequences of failure to report abuse, how to respond to reports of alleged abuse. Identifying possible characteristics of an abuser, common risk factors for abuse and warning signs of abuse. Resident rights and how to preserve dignity while assisting the elderly. (In accordance with SB 129) NAC 449.0021 NRS 200.5091-200.50995 NRS 193.167 This training meets the requirements for Senate Bill 129.
